2007 was a very successful year. Many functions and occations were organized. There were also several visitors we had in this year. It is already two years after tsunami and by the last two years, Tangalle Children Relay could improve it's quality by several folds. Now the teachers are well trained and everything up to standered. TCR management did it's best to uplift the standered of our Preschool and to give a better service to the surround community.

YEAR 2006

Miss. Claudia visited our new home again in 2006 March. She always wanted to be with the kids and to tell them the stories.

The ground was not a comfortable surface for the kids and they only rolled on the mettresses to play.
New Home gave enough space for playing, learning and eating for every child.
Her most naughty girl Rashmi was always in her hand

YEAR 2005

Our kids at Tangalle after Tsunami (2005 May)

By the time Tsunami hit Tangalle, our organization did not exist. But immediately after we realized the need of care for children under school age, those were living in temporary orphanages. Then we informed our beloved friends who felt sympathetic of the tragedy, about our need to create a place like day care centre, that these kids could be protected and cared.
At our fortune, Miss. Claudia Nikodom and Miss. Antonia Schweir offered to help us to establish a center for need children. At the same time Miss. Antonia Schweir offered to visit Tangalle to see the situation her own. By seen all the disasters herself, immediately decided to open a centre for children.
We could rent a home and employ 2 ladies, who are tsunami victims and the house owner (Lady) that will take care of 9 children. Many of those children were either parentless or displaced.

The very first day the kids came to the kindergarten on 09th of May 2005.  They were given pencils and drawing papers free. Some snacks and a cup of Milk tea were also given as a short breakfast. There were no toys, desks or tables at the beginning. They had to sit on the ground, with the mats given from some NGOs for the tsunami affected families in the village.
