The team was warmly welcomed by the children with beautiful water lilies. The kids were very happy to see the guests. They sang some nursery rhymes very sweetly. There were 16 children and two teachers with them. Real medicine foundation had helped to build the front wall and the play house and the beautiful garden. All these donations were done through Dr. Martina Fuchs. She was very happy.
Mr. Mahendra the director of the preschool taking much care to function this preschool as well as the girl’s hostel. The guests were so impressed about the valuable service done by Mr. Mahendra. Great responsibility had taken to provide these services to the Tsunami affected children and the rural girls. The children were given free uniforms, stationary and the food too.
Next, we all went to Marakolliya, the Chec village to see the other pre school. That was run by Mr. Mahendra. This village has newly built 25 houses and given to those who had affected from Tsunami. And the Pre-school was also built by them and it was abandoned. So Mr. Mahendra took this chance to serve the kids in those houses. Two trained teachers with another trainee teacher maintaining the preschool well. There are 11 children. It has started one month before. The teachers are very active. When we entered the class room, the teachers were singing with the children. Many photos were taken. The children seem to be not used with the crowd. Mr. Mahendra told that he would expand his services and make the two Pre-schools more important places for the children who deserve most care. His dedicated work was appreciated by all. He has the ability to direct and manage. All were very happy. All the moments were photographed. Miss. Kelly, the journalist collected most of the information about Pre-schools and the Girls’ hostel. And we set back to come to our next visit for that day, The Tangalle Hospital.
